Eggdrop Installation

Eggdrop 1.4.3

Type gunzip eggdrop1.4.3.tar.gz
Type tar -xvf eggdrop1.4.3.tar
Wait for Eggdrop to decompile itself to a directory.
Type cd eggdrop1.4.3
Type ./configure
Eggdrop will now configure itself according to your system, this may take a while.
Type make
Now Eggdrop is compiling itself.
Type make install DEST=~/bots
Type cd ~/bots
Type pico eggdrop.conf
Now you need to edit your bot's conf file, or you can download our example conf from the downloads section.
Type ./eggdrop -m eggdrop.conf
This will load your eggdrop. Go into your IRC client and wait for the bot to join the channels you set and type /msg <Your bots nick> hello and follow the instructions it gives you.

Type gunzip eggdrop1.1.5.tar.gz
Type tar -xvf eggdrop1.1.5.tar
Wait for eggdrop to decompile itself to a directory.
Type cd eggdrop1.1.5
Type ./configure
Eggdrop will now configure itself according to your system, this may take a while.
Type make eggdrop
Now Eggdrop is compiling itself, this is the long part.
Type putegg ~/bots
Type cd ~/bots
Type pico eggdrop.conf
Now you need to edit your bot's conf file. Pico is like Window's Notepad. Or you can download our example conf located in the downloads section.
Type ./eggdrop -m eggdrop.conf
This will load your eggdrop. Go to your IRC client and wait for the bot to join the channels you set and type /msg <Your bots nick> hello and follow the instructions it gives you.
